A Note From the President {March 31, 2016}

A NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Ever have one of those months that goes by so insanely fast that you completely miss writing a newsletter to your organization? Like, not by a day, but by a whole TWO WEEKS? No? Oh… yeah me neither.

The Jaycees have had a big March! Our first big community event of the year, Peter Rabbit Day, was last weekend, and I think it’s safe to say that nearly every child on the westside stopped by to hunt for eggs, get their face painted, take a photo with the bunny, and eat alllll of the candy. (Ok maybe not every kid on the westside, but it certainly felt like it.) To see the adorable pictures from the event, head to the Facebook album here. Great times were had by the families and the Jaycees who volunteered, now we’re riding that high right into planning for our June Huck Finn Day (mark your calendars for June 18th now!)

Continuing with the community service trend, we’ll be welcoming our fellow Santa Monica service organizations (Kiwanis, Rotary, Lions, and the Bay Women’s Club) to our April Membership Meeting next week at General Assembly, so if you’ve ever been curious about what each group does this is your chance to come find out. Plus they’re spoiling us with free wine and snacks, so why miss it?

Okay, I’m going to go soak in the last day of March since I’m pretty sure I thought it was February up until about a day ago – happy Spring!

Baily Hancock
2016 Santa Monica Jaycees President
