April Civic Engagement Recap

Time for a roundup of April’s Civic Engagement meeting! Cynthia Rose of Santa Monica Spoke stopped by and spokeon bike usage, bike safety,  Breeze bike share, folding bikes, and all things bike related. Actually, we also touched on the Expo line and WaiveCar, so it was more like all things non-car related.

Next month we’ll have Alison Hurst, Executive Director for Safe Place for Youth, as we continue our series on homelessness. Solidarity 17 May 2016 at 6:30pm – Mark that in your calendars, folks!

Brompton Urban Challenge

30 April 2016, 11 am – 4 pm

Aika, the Urban Cycling Store, will host Santa Monica’s first ever Brompton Urban Challenge. Akin to a two-wheeled scavenger hunt, the Brompton Urban Challenge tests the creativity and ingenuity of its participants as they explore their city, interpreting clues, and completing challenges, all from the seat of their bikes. Join to have fun, support SM biking culture, support a local business (AIKA), and benefit Santa Monica Spoke all at the same time!!

Gear Up!

01 May 2016, 11 am – 2pm

Gear Up! launches a variety events to help you get ready to ride, learn to pedal safely, and win free stuff during Bike Month!. This collaborative community celebration is brought to you with local partners to help you get a bike, learn to fix a flat, win free stuff, eat good food and have fun.
